The Jamie L. Whitten Historical Center on the man-made Tennesse-Tombigbee Waterway in Mississippi describes the economic benefits of the waterway. It also interprets the work of several federal agencies including the Army Corps of Engineers, USDA Forest Service, BLM and others.

You must work the controls on this systems of locks to allow various vessels to pass through. The captain of the vessel describes economic benefits of the waterway. Some 13 vessels pass through.
